4th Annual Festival of Aloha – Sunday, September 20, 2015

Published on 09. 16. 2015

An entire day of fun for the entire family!

Source: Mauna Kea Resort

Visitors to the Big Island will have a day to remember at the Fourth Annual Festival of Aloha, presented by Mauna Kea Resort. The free all-day event, held at Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, showcases the spirit of aloha by featuring hula performances, plenty of authentic Hawaiian music and a visit by the Royal Court. If that isn’t enough to keep you busy, be sure to spend some time visiting the tantalizingly tasty food booths and unique Hawaiian craft vendors.
The Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel is located at 62-100 Kauna’oa Drive, Kohala Coast. For more information about the event, call the Hapuna Prince Hotel at (808) 880-1111, or visit www.HapunaBeachPrinceHotel.com.

Your donations of canned food support the Hawaii Food Pantry

Although the Annual Festival of Aloha is free of charge, festival visitors are encouraged to bring canned food donations for the Hawaii Food Pantry, a supplemental food network that works hard to feed the hungry while educating the local community about local hunger. The organization’s ultimate goal is to eradicate local hunger and poverty by providing healthy, nutritious food, and to redistribute food that would otherwise go unused.

The natural world: Good for your mental health and overall well-being!

Although a visit to the Big Island can be the trip of a lifetime and your days are packed with hundreds of things to see and do, traveling is, at times, stressful and exhausting. It may seem that there is never enough time to do everything you want to do. To maintain your mental equilibrium, balance the busy-ness of your trip and nurture your spirit by communing with the natural world that surrounds you. Beauty is everywhere you look, but it’s easy to miss when you’re constantly on the run. Take a time-out to enjoy the wonders of nature that surround you -- the ocean vistas, waterfalls, mountain peaks, lava tubes, ancient trees and spectacular plant life. Allow yourself to be greeted by the marine life and colorful songbirds.
Be respectful of the fragile natural environment during your visit to the Big Island. Stay on established paths, parks or roadways, as you may unintentionally be wandering onto dangerous areas or private property. Dispose of your trash properly and never feed the animals. Of course, wear comfortable walking shoes and don’t forget your sunscreen!
